Well, as the hardware and software keep going away from supporting this old software, it's possible that there is bugs that weren't there before.Zarpox wrote:I understand what you mean, that version was around for a while, but I just played it for a few minutes again now and it does have it's fair share of bugs that some people may have forgotten about.Hahmonen wrote:Not actually, but i remember it as the "never crashing" version, not sure anymore because it was on an old computer that has better support for old stuff like this.
Re: A focus on stability?
#12Who knows? But in this case, playing 1.3 on an old pc should still be better then, and to have a fair comparison to older versions like 0.6.6.Hahmonen wrote:Well, as the hardware and software keep going away from supporting this old software, it's possible that there is bugs that weren't there before.
I can imagine it does. But like, what is more important? More content or less bugs? At this point, less bugs of course. And by that logic, you can just play the earlier versions to get fewer bugs but less stuff to do? Anyway, I still really like the game, no matter what version.LORD DEATH wrote:I'm sure that with every new item implemented, the bug squashing gets significantly harder.

Re: A focus on stability?
#19Frankly it depends on the users. I used to use Zoho for bug tracking, and asked users to report bugs using a provided template. The bug tracker allowed me to chomp through bugs, but it was largely my own reported/noted bugs on the list, and very few ones were reported by users.
Point being that given a comprehensive list of known bugs, it's a lot easier to provide stability to the software than just blindly "optimising code" in the hopes that it fixes bugs.
